Don’t React, Respond: A Buddhist Approach to Conflict

Friday 7 Nov 2025

7.30pm to 8.45pm

At Heruka Kadampa Meditation Centre, Golders Green

With Kadam John McBretney

Why do conflicts arise — and how can we respond wisely?

Whether in our personal relationships, at work, or in the wider world, conflict is an unavoidable part of life. But it doesn’t have to lead to anger, resentment, or division.

In this session, Kadam John McBretney will share how Buddhist teachings offer a fresh and transformative approach to dealing with conflict — both within ourselves and with others. Through meditation and practical insights, learn how to stay calm, communicate with clarity, and respond with compassion rather than react with hostility.

Discover how inner peace leads to outer harmony.

You will:

  • Learn practical meditation techniques to stay calm during conflict
  • Understand how mindfulness helps shift from reactive emotions to thoughtful responses
  • Cultivate compassion and clear communication to transform difficult interactions
