Find Peace Beyond Stress and Anxiety

Sat 12 September 2026

At Heruka Kadampa Meditation Centre, Golders Green

With Kadam John McBretney

Stress and anxiety can feel like they’re coming from everything around us — work, relationships, uncertainty, and pressure. We try to fix the situation, manage everything, or distract ourselves — but the uneasy feeling often returns.

From a Buddhist perspective, stress and anxiety are deeply influenced by how the mind responds to life’s challenges — through habits such as overthinking, exaggeration, resistance, and grasping.

This is what makes change possible.

In this half-day course, you’ll learn how to identify the inner causes of stress and gradually let them go. Through guided meditation and practical insight, you’ll discover how to respond to life with greater calm, clarity, and stability — even when things don’t go as planned.

This is not about avoiding life’s challenges, but about developing a mind that is no longer controlled by them.

You will discover how to:

  • Recognise how stress and anxiety are created within the mind
  • Let go of overthinking and mental tension
  • Develop a calm and stable response to life’s challenges

Everyone is welcome—perfect for beginners and everyone seeking more ease, strength, and peace in daily life.
