Two inspiring talks on the healing power of meditation

Even when life is going well, many of us still struggle with stress, anxiety, worry or a feeling that something is missing.

In these two inspiring meditation talks, beloved Buddhist teacher Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong will share practical methods for using meditation to develop genuine inner healing — helping us deal with painful feelings at their root and develop a deep, stable happiness.

Whether you are completely new to meditation or already have some experience, everyone is welcome. Each talk is followed by a guided meditation and Q&A.

Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible

VENERABLE GESHE KELSANG GYATSO

The Founder of Modern Buddhism

Your day

The two talks are designed to be experienced together — one day, two themes, a single unfolding journey.

What makes Gen-la Dekyong such a loved teacher is that she speaks from her own experience of living Buddhism in a busy modern life. Everything she offers is at once down-to-earth and deeply meaningful — practical enough to use on Monday morning, yet reaching to the heart of what we're all looking for.

The morning talk begins with something we all recognise: how hard we work for a happier life, and how lasting contentment still seems to slip out of reach. From there, Gen-la opens up how real, lasting change becomes possible — not by changing our circumstances, but by working with the mind itself.

After the talk there's a short pause, then a guided meditation and Q&A to bring the teaching into direct experience — and in the early afternoon, a full hour for lunch, with places of every kind to eat close by. Time to let the morning settle and to meet others who've come for the same reasons.

The afternoon takes up a second theme: a happiness that comes from within — a peace so stable it stays with us whatever life may bring. It's a natural companion to the morning, exploring from a fresh angle the same discovery that our deepest wellbeing is something we can cultivate.

Each talk stands complete on its own — but together they make a fuller, richer day. If you can, come for both.
